
William Yu
William Yu is a Korean American screenwriter who tells sharp, dynamic stories about ambitious outsiders upending the systems that hold them back.
Yu is currently a Story Editor on NBC’s Brilliant Minds (starring Zachary Quinto), and previously staffed on Peacock's The 'Burbs, starring Keke Palmer, and Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, starring Kevin Hart, Don Cheadle, and Samuel L. Jackson. His half-hour dramedy Good Boy was selected for the Sundance Episodic Lab and a Sundance Institute grant, with its proof of concept now streaming online, having amassed 150,000+ views.
Yu’s rom-com It Was You was voted to The Black List and is in development with Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu. He’s currently adapting a feature for CJ ENM.
He also created the viral movement #StarringJohnCho, spotlighted by CNN, BBC, and The New York Times.
